FOUSHEÉ ~ DOUBLE STANDARD
From Tik Tok and underground gigs in NYC, to becoming the first black female artist to hit Alternative Radio’s Top 10 in 32 years, and signing to RCA Records (the home of Alicia Keys, Doja Cat, and Childish Gambino, to name a few), Fousheé’s multi-directional approach to music is what makes her a unique talent. Her song writing is as cleverly complex as it is simple, her vocals are as passionate as they are hauntingly beautiful, and her multi-instrumental talents create soundscapes that verge on indie, yet maintain a bright and soulful core.
Fousheé’s ability to cross genre boundaries is clear in her collaborations. Working with rap mainstays like Vince Staples, Lil Wayne, and Lil Yachty, to alternative R&B super talent Steve Lacy, and the alt-pop power King Princess, Fousheé is never lost alongside these huge talents. Her gentle and passionate musical singularity remains identifiable in her emotion driven vocal fluctuations and effortless flow.
Fousheé’s new single “Double Standard” continues to show her ability to seamlessly intersect soulful R&B harmonies over indie pop beats and deceivingly complex instrumental layering. The track is a further exploration in bright and satisfying rhythm, graceful pop hooks, and easy euphoria. Fousheé once again proving that she is truly a multi-dimensional artist from whom we can expect great things.
