PANIA
After releasing her second EP ‘we still young’ the Australian artist PANIA is very much experiencing a life bloom. Exploring the delicate balance life needs between work, rest and play with her signature graceful R&B flow the EP also showcases her musical growth. Moving through a killer opening freestyle track to vocal harmony to complex rhythm, the overall journey of the EP really resonates with the inside of a mind growing up and into its own unique form.
Outside of your art form, where do you find inspiration?
Fashion, runways, old school movies, cars, motorbikes, travelling.
Where do you think you get your personal power from?
Where and how I was raised.
Within your immediate circle of friends and family or chosen family who is your hero and why?
My grandparents, because they work hard.
How much of a role do other musicians play in your work?
I draw subtle inspiration from the artists I grew up on, like Sade, Amy, Lauryn & Drake.
Is there a specific sonic theme, genre or instrument that you draw pure joy from?
2000s pop. Lady Gaga to be specific.
How does visual aesthetic come to play in your work?
It intertwines and helps bring to life my vision on a whole other element, it also allows me to express myself creatively through fashion and clothing.
What are the core values behind your art?
My main core value is just to be myself, stay true to myself, and make the world feel something.

Drake, Parris Goebel, Dua Lipa
What are you holding whilst posing for an oil painting?
A mango with chilli salt on top of it.
What do you own that you should throw out, but can't?
Fidget spinner.
If you could change the end of any film what would it be?
Romeo and Juliet - I’d make them survive and live happily ever after in the islands.
Why do you think you are here on planet earth at this time?
To be an icon.
