Louie Pastel and Felix are two people who know their shit. Creating as a duo under the name ‘Paris Texas’ they have been described as an “alternative hip hop duo” but are absolutely breaking all of those conventions. Their Debut Album MID AIR, accompanied by short film “Head High” is straight up ballsy and noisy, a commentary on life tinged with humour, but also a pleading rage. They have a perspective that is both singular and very fucking accurate when looking at the world around them. The words ‘layers’ and ‘contradictions’ come up a lot when looking at descriptions at their work, but at the heart of it I don’t necessarily hear a reflection of life, I just hear exactly what it is. Pure unending life yelling at your face in all its noise, hilarity, stress, strength and absolute shittiness. It’s also somehow really fun, much like them, as you can see in our chat below.
Outside of your art form, where do you find inspiration?
Felix: I find inspiration in design, architecture. Skateboarding edits, films when I can.
Louie: Movies and wanting revenge inspires me.
Where do you think you get your personal power from?
Felix: Wow. What a question. I’m still trying to find out. Wherever it comes from I wanna take a vacation there.
Louie: Having demonic rage that I repress cause I can’t fight.
What is your favourite space?

Withi n your immediate circle of friends and family or chosen family who is your hero and why?
Louie: My cousin Michael, he was the first person who took control of his life and pursued arts.
Is there a specific sonic theme, genre or instrument that you draw pure joy from? E.g film soundtrack, 70’s punk, the Roland 808
Felix: I really like Rhodes, strings, violins. Honorable Mention: When Lil Uzi Vert screams “Yeah!”
Louie: Something about anything with Rhodes keys gives me joy.
What are the core values behind your art?
Louie: Don’t be yourself, be the fictional version of yourself.
If you could grant a wish for someone, who and what would it be?
Felix: I would grant a wish for my sister. I would wish for her to be cured of schizophrenia and live the life she’s always dreamed of.
Louie: I’d grant it for my friend Jesus and it'd be for him.
What are you holding whilst posing for an oil painting?
Felix: I’ll be holding Soursop Nectar and Fiji Water.
Louie: A guitar but I’m boot-butt naked.
