EAST OF THE NILE
Upon arrival to this plain never knew fear,
Left one side of the Galaxy to set up shop here.
called upon my angles until their appeared,
Fought demons with my words that pierced doubt like spears.
I never needed reassurance because my intent was clear.
Nearly two when I saw a man turn beast on the east side of the Nile.
Didn’t know fear so I could swim against the current state of denial.
But what I felt was pain.
I felt the hurt of sounds
ranging in his brain.
I felt his shame.
But I also felt the loneliness, of being free.
Some don’t fear to be free, they fear to be alone. So they’ll disguise their truth
and live a lie just to please you.
Drifted so far from my truth, I became the fool.
Sacrificed my last dime, dimmed my light, just so I could see you.
