equipped with wings for exploration and self-discovery, fearless NY five-piece band Phony Ppl took a moment as they wrap up their 2023 AUS tour, to chat with us about Love and life. A perfect weekend soundtrack, their most recent album, Euphonyus is on repeat in our hearts and homes.

Outside of your art form, where do you find inspiration?

Colour/ emotional harmony and texture.

Where do you think you get your personal power from?

A mixture of God, parents, and environment.

What is your favourite space?

Is there something you learnt early in your career that you have now disproven?

You need a college/university education.

Within your immediate circle of friends and family or chosen family who is your hero and why?
Our parents went to work, so we can have the liberty and luxury to spent time making art.

How much of a role do other musicians play in your work?
As a band, we fill all grounds necessary musically. I’d say a role other musicians would play would be research.

Is there a specific sonic theme, genre or instrument that you draw pure joy from?

m’Great Grandmother whom iii miss so much!!! i was a boy when she passed, id like to see the natural course of our convos now that im older.

You have a free plane ticket, where are you going?

To the airport.

I’m taking my dad to Sade’s “Lover’s live” concert in 2001

If you could change the end of any film what would it be and what would you change it to?

I would definitely change the ending of “The Dark Knight Rises” I’m just not buying that Batman is saving Gotham and then just going on permanent vacation in Europe. I would definitely have him looking discontent with retirement and recruitment officer Grayson as Robin

If you were an ice cream flavour, what would it be?
Chocolate Dulce de Leche

What's the worst lie you ever told as a kid?
m’doG ate m’homewoik.

Have you ever experienced true love?
Yes.

If you could learn one new skill instantly, what would it be?
The skill of teleportation.
