Hurley’s photographic lens zeros into these sartorial codes collaged from masculine figures of the moment to highlight how teenagehood is performed on city streets. Decisions to increase stature, borrowed dress codes from delinquent icons to avoid harm like an evolutionary disguise the way the porcupine wears its spikes.
